The Art of Fresh Food
The Montclair Farmers Market kicks off its 18th season on Saturday, June 5 and continues every Saturday morning through November, from 8 am to 1 pm, at the Walnut Street Train Station parking lot.

This season, five familiar farmers – Tree-Licious Orchards, Sunden Farms, Vacchiano’s, Matarazzo’s and Farmer John (the organic grower) – return to Montclair to offer their fresh produce, often picked within 24 hours of the market!

Also, look for food artisans, such as The Bread Company, a cheese maker, a fishmonger, a beekeeper with hone and wax candles, a specialty condiments purveyor, a pesto maker, and a pickler. Plus, there will be demonstrations and live music as part of the weekly highlights.

When you come to the Farmers Market each week, be sure to save a little time before or after to check out nearby galleries, restaurants and shops.

Jacklyn Kling (106 Walnut St.) offers custom framing, original art, artwork for children and decorative prints.

Andrew Tedesco Studios (97 Walnut St.) is home to the muralist and fourth-generation artist.

The Chocolate Path (94 Walnut St.) treats purveying dark chocolate as a high art.

Egan & Sons (118 Walnut St.) where you can grab a pint and enjoy an authentic Irish meal. Check out the owners' collection of fine art on the walls.

Let's Go Antiquing Print E-mail

If your motto is "they don't make them like they used to," you'll have a wonderful time exploring Montclair's many antique shops. Start at the Montclair Antique Center, at 34 Church Street, which features items from dozens of vendors who specialize in everything from art, jewelry, furniture, clothing, ethnic artifacts and sports memorabilia. From there, visit American Sampler (American country antiques) Little Cricket (vintage goods) and the recently opened Montclair auction house, Nye & Company. If you dig Mid-Century Designs, you must stop in Edge. A worthwhile stop in Upper Montclair is My Inheritance, which carries a hand-picked collection of vintage jewelry and accessories.
Your treasure-seeking day trip to Montclair will be complete with lunch or dinner at one of Montclair's many well-known restaurants. Enjoy "the thrill of the hunt"!
