HPC to Host Architectural Walking Tour of Montclair’s Historic Town Center

old map of Montclair, NJThe Montclair Township Historic Preservation Commission, in association with the Montclair Historical Society and the Montclair Center Business Improvement District, is hosting an architectural walking tour of Montclair’s historic Town Center. The tour will be held Sunday, May 4, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Please meet at the corner of Church Street and Bloomfield Avenue.

Architect and historic preservation professional Barton Ross will lead the tour, providing commentary on the people and places behind the history of Montclair Center. Montclair Township Planning Director Janice Talley will talk about plans for the Center's future.

Kayla Phillips Makes Her Debut at Trend Coffee & Tea House

Kayla has been singing since she was very small. She picked up the guitar during Hurricane Sandy when her family had no power and her mother -- musician, actress, author, TV34 Arts Up Close host Zara Phillips -- taught her a different chord everyday. By the end of the week Kayla was playing Taylor Swift and Katy Perry songs.

Kayla also loves to act and dance and last year was cast as the lead role in ”Intervention”an independent film directed by Jonathan Bucari due for release later this year.

The Jewelers Studio Guild Invitational Craft Show comes to St. James Episcopal Church at 581 Valley Road, Montclair, on Saturday, May 3, from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm. The show will feature the handmade jewelry of Guild members in many types and styles, including metalwork in sterling silver, bronze, copper and fine silver, flame worked glass beads, bead weaving, gem stones, and mixed media. Participating Guild members include Sue Sachs, Sharon Feigin, Kathy Keller, Joan Lisi, Julie Martini, Hilary Shank-Kuhl, and others.

Dance the Night Away at MAM's Centennial Ball & Fashionably Late Dance Party

Guests are invited to partake in the fun by dressing from their favorite decade for a chic soirée to celebrate art and fashion through the century. Cocktails will be held in Leir Hall at 6:30 p.m. inside the Museum followed by dinner in the Grand Tent at 8:00 p.m. on the front lawn. The Fashionably Late Dance Party begins at 9:30 p.m. in Leir Hall.
